Detectives with the Vancouver Police Department’s major crime team are investigating a burglary and assault that occurred early this morning in east Vancouver.

Two men wearing dark clothing broke into a home in the 3400 block of Northeast 138th Avenue at about 3 a.m., Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

Once inside, the men assaulted a woman and burglarized the home before fleeing the scene, Kapp said.

The woman sustained injuries described as not life-threatening, Kapp said, and she was transported to a hospital.

Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident, Kapp said. The woman was not identified and additional details about the incident were not released.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Vancouver police Detective Neil Martin at 360-487-7423 or neil.martin@cityofvancouver.us.
