The showdown for first place didn’t quite materialize on Tuesday.
The King’s Way Christian baseball team swept Castle Rock 10-0 and 13-5 to move back into first place in the Trico League.
Garrett Wellman and Thomas Martin both went 2 for 2 with two runs and two RBI in the opener. The Knights score six times in the first inning to take control.
Joisah Tully went 2 for 2 with a run and two RBI, and Joshua Tully was 2 for 3 with a double, run and three RBI in the nightcap.
The wins improved King’s Way Christian to 10-1 in league and clinched a district playoff berth for the Knights, who are in the first-year as a varsity program. Castle Rock slipped to 8-2.
