Letter: Portrait of government greed

The Columbian
Published: April 29, 2015, 5:00pm

The editorial cartoon titled “Repealing the Estate Tax” published April 22 is an excellent example of government greed. It also illustrates the attitude of progressives/ socialists, et al, everywhere that all moneys belong to and should be distributed by a central government as it sees fit.

The “wealthiest .2% of Americans” are perfectly capable of passing on their wealth to heirs, of whom will invest wisely or spend it foolishly. Either way, the money is being put in circulation, not locked in a vault a la Scrooge McDuck.

The editorial cartoon is an expression of opinion, open to all, although misleading and promoting class envy among the low-informed citizen.
