Letter: Practical listener grounded in Boldt

The Columbian
Published: July 31, 2015, 5:00pm

The August primary gives voters a chance to influence whether the letter and spirit of our new Clark County charter will be fully implemented. I’m voting for Marc Boldt for council chair and urge others to do the same. Boldt helped craft the charter as a member of the freeholders board and supported its adoption. He can be relied upon to live up to its letter and spirit.

Boldt has political courage and independence. He was denied funding from the Republican Party he’d been part of for years. Instead, he insisted on hearing from the public — that’s you and me — before deciding how to vote. Boldt is practical and experienced. He listens to all sides before making a decision. We need a good listener as county chair.
