Letter: Teaching ethics erases prejudice

The Columbian
Published: August 1, 2015, 5:00pm

Am I the only one who feels this way? The sad part is I have no way to help make it better. In the 74 years of life on this Earth I have worked in every single state in the U.S. and most of Canada. I am in the sales field and people are my life. I love people and personally know someone in about every ethic group. I feel I am not racist or prejudiced but in today’s world who knows what people consider racist?

I do know for a fact the state or the U.S. government cannot raise a family. I feel the biggest problem in America today is the breakdown in the family. Most of Americans’ problems are a lack of education taught in the home, not in some school or college. From work ethic to manners, without someone teaching these things at home the future is not so bright for some for these kids.

The prisons are full of what I call homeless kids because they have no real family bond but now they have a prison family. Guess where they are headed back — home to prison.

You can make a difference, keep your family together. Help others do the same.

God bless America and all its people. This is the best place to live in the world. Why do you think we have a problem at our borders?
