A 16-year-old Vancouver girl was taken to a hospital early Sunday morning after the car she was driving struck a pole along Interstate 205 in Clark County.

Kaitlyn A. Crall was driving a blue 2002 Volkswagen Cabriolet north on the freeway shortly before 1:15 a.m. when she swerved to avoid hitting an animal on I-205, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol. The car then left the roadway and hit a pole near where the freeway crosses underneath Northeast 72nd Avenue.

Crall was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, where she was treated and released, according to hospital staff.

The WSP memo didn’t specify what type of animal was in the roadway.
