Letter: Rally for teachers to teach the test

Well, I see the results are in for the state’s standardized testing. The results show Hockinson schools failing in all categories. I was valedictorian in the class of 1961. I hold a regents diploma from the state of New York, in math and science. All I had to do to sustain such high accords is repeat back what my teachers spouted in class. College was a different matter.

I urge all Washingtonians to rally behind the teachers, to support the “teach to the test” principle to avoid the stigma of being an “underperforming” school. In short — I survived. I admit to being ignorant of the modern “senior projects” with their pie-in-the-sky results, but it would seem the money is attached to “performance” — good or bad.
