SEATTLE — Crews worked Sunday to restore power after powerful winds knocked out electricity to nearly 500,000 customers in the Seattle area.
Puget Sound Energy says 60 lines crews are working to restore power following the Saturday storm. Snohomish County PUD says some 70,000 residents are without power and customers in remote pockets might not have power for days.
The Seattle Department of Transportation says more than 75 fallen trees or limbs have been taken care of and major roads cleared.
A 36-year-old Gig Harbor man killed by a falling branch on Saturday has been identified as James Fay.
A 10-year-old girl playing outside at a friend’s birthday party was killed by a falling tree limb Saturday. Her name hasn’t been released.
