Esther Short — Part of the third floor at the Vancouver Community Library has a new, younger look, as the Tween Scene opened Aug. 21 for library guests ages 9-12.

The area contains new furniture, colorful counters, computers and books, and media appropriate for children in that age range. The Tween Scene is open during library hours.

The space officially opened after librarian Jackie Spurlock and Ian Fairgrieve, 10, performed a ribbon-cutting. Ian was one of the library guests who gave input into designing the Tween Scene.
