A Clark County Bar Association candidate forum for five judicial appointee applicants who are seeking to succeed Superior Court Judge Barbara Johnson is set for Monday.

The forum is from noon to 1 p.m. in the sixth-floor hearing room at the Clark County Public Service Center, 1400 Franklin St.

Johnson, the county’s first female Superior Court judge, is retiring at the end of March from Position 6 after 28 years on the bench.

Senior Deputy Prosecutor Camara Banfield, Chief Deputy Prosecutor John Fairgrieve, and private attorneys Denise Lukins, Christopher Ramsay and Bob Vukanovich have applied for her position. Gov. Jay Inslee plans to appoint one of them in early March, according to Nick Brown, Inslee’s general counsel.

The county has 10 Superior Court judge positions. Superior courts are the highest state trial courts, hearing felony and larger civil matters. Superior Court judges are paid $156,363 per year, plus benefits.
