CHEHALIS — A Chehalis frozen food company says the slowdown at Puget Sound ports has cost it nearly 20 percent of its business.

The general manager of the National Frozen Foods plant, Pat Sauter, told The Chronicle it has been unable to ship its peas, corn and carrots to buyers in China and Japan. It also hasn’t been able to receive materials the company needs for packaging.

The plant has 220 employees and produces 80 million pounds of frozen vegetables a year.
