Boys basketball: La Center 65, Kalama 46

The Wildcats locked up the No. 2 seed from the Trico League with the win at Kalama.

Wyatt Aguirre scored 13 of his 18 points in La Center’s 32-point fourth quarter as the Wildcats blew the game open after scoring 34 points in the first three quarters.

“We had a tough night shooting and then caught fire in the fourth quarter,” La Center coach Jon Schroeder said. “Kalama plays you tough. They make you work for a win.”

Will Rice had 17 points, and Brody Seter had six of his 10 in the fourth quarter and was 4 for 4 from the free-throw line in the period. Max Hiller had eight points and nine rebounds.

La Center will host Tenino in a district playoff game on Thursday.
