A wanted man from Central Washington prompted a lockdown at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center on Friday afternoon before fleeing from the hospital.

Around 4:45 p.m., Clark County sheriff’s deputies were sent to the hospital at 2211 N.E. 139th St. on a report of a suspicious person.

John J. Huziar, 19, of Ephrata fought with security personnel at the hospital and left before deputies arrived, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies canvassed the medical campus in search of him, focusing on the oncology building and parking structure where he was last seen, but they weren’t able to find him.

Huziar has a felony assault warrant out of the Ephrata Police Department, the sheriff’s office said. He’s described as a white man, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 240 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. During the disturbance, he was wearing gray shorts and a purple Minnesota Vikings jersey with “86” on it.

Police don’t believe Huziar is a threat to the public but asked anyone seeing a person matching his description to call 911.
