A Vancouver man and two Cowlitz County women were injured in a head-on vehicle crash early Sunday morning on state Highway 411 about a mile north of Longview.

The collision occurred at about 1:50 a.m. when a green 1997 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Matthew L. Ferguson, 24, of Vancouver passed a vehicle while driving north on the highway in a no-passing zone, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol.

The pickup then crashed into a southbound black 2002 Mini Cooper driven by Isabella M. Wolf, 19, of Longview, according to WSP.

Wolf was transported to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview and then airlifted to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, according to WSP. Her passenger, Melania A. Hylton, 20, of Kalama also was injured and taken to PeaceHealth St. John.

Wolf was in serious condition and Hylton in satisfactory condition on Sunday, according to hospital staff.

Ferguson was taken to PeaceHealth St. John and then transferred to PeaceHealth Southwest, according to WSP. His condition was not available.

Both vehicles were impounded by WSP. Charges in the collision are pending, WSP reported.
