Boomerang is looking for a volunteer to greet customers, stock inventory, operate the cash register and serve coffee.

Clark College Mature Learning is looking for a media assistant to aid instructors by creating PowerPoint presentations, preparing the classroom, contacting students and working with the sound amplification system. Office assistants are also needed on campus and for special events and off-campus excursions.

Columbia Land Trust seeks volunteers to become site stewards, to help monitor property, survey for wildlife, remove litter, respond to public inquiries and act as ambassadors for Columbia Land Trust.

FISH of Vancouver seeks help with hauling, sorting and distributing food and clothing donations.

Friends of the Carpenter seeks volunteer help with hospitality, newsletters and mailings, special events, transportation, woodworking, in the thrift store and as a kitchen coordinator.

The Salvation Army seeks volunteers in the after-school “Say Klub” program. Pick up children from school, assist with projects and homework, and provide literacy tutoring. Food room workers and truck drivers are also needed.

Volunteer Center seeks high-school-age students to join the new Youth Volunteerism Council of Clark County. Members will gain leadership and public speaking skills and experience for college, and meet other teens. There will be a town hall meeting at 4 p.m. Feb. 26.

The county councilors seek to fill three positions on the Railroad Advisory Board. The board advises the county about its 33-mile Chelatchie Prairie Railroad. The 15-member board considers how to best achieve long-term return on investment in the railroad, leverage the railroad as an economic development asset, and address concerns of stakeholders and constituents affected by the railroad. Meetings are 4-5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver.

The county seeks applicants with experience in industrial real estate development, industrial real estate brokerage, land-use law and neighborhood association participation.
