The Hawks kept their season alive by eliminating Centralia from the 2A district tournament.

Payton Wangler scored a game-high 13 points for Hockinson (12-10), which used pressure defense to shut down Centralia.

“We probably played our best game of the season,” Hockinson coach Damon Roche said. “We used full-court pressure consistently and went after their guards.”

Hockinson had just seven turnovers in the game.

Hannah Neibauer had 10 points and four steals, and Sydnie Cole-Vogler had nine points, four assists, four rebounds and four steals.

The Hawks next face Washougal at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at Mark Morris High School with the winner advancing to the third-place final to play for a berth to state.
