Tour of McLoughlin, Jefferson schools set

Parents and community members can register for a free patron tour of McLoughlin and Thomas Jefferson middle schools from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 13. Hosted by Vancouver Public Schools Superintendent Steven Webb, the tour begins and ends at the Bates Center for Educational Leadership, 2921 Falk Road. Transportation is provided between schools.

Visitors will observe one-to-one technology, the Gateway to Technology project-based science, math and technology classes, and a college readiness program called Advancement Via Individual Determination.

The McLoughlin tour includes the school’s Family-Community Resource Center. The Jefferson tour includes honors classes.

An optional student musical performance and a $4 lunch prepared by culinary arts students are available after the tour.
