Retail gas prices are continuing their steady climb of recent weeks, with the average price for regular climbing to $2.37 per gallon in Vancouver, up nine cents from a week ago.
The weekly AAA price survey also shows an 11 cent per gallon increase in Washington, to $2.36 center per gallon, and a 12-cent increase in Oregon to an average of $2.38 per gallon. The national average is $2.26 a gallon.
Even with the latest hikes, prices locally and nationally are about a dollar a gallon cheaper than a year ago and they remain near six-year lows, said Marie Dodds, public affairs director for AAA Oregon/Idaho.
