Camas — Nine young musicians from around the region played in front of a house packed with family, friends and classical music fans on Feb. 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vancouver. Three gold-medal finalists — violinist Yun Teng of Camas, and pianists Nathan Kim of Newberg, Ore., and Matthieu Galizia of St. Helens, Ore. — each won a $1,000 scholarship. The three musicians will perform as guest artists with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Salvador Brotons on April 18 and 19 at Skyview High School. Pianist Jeremiah Guo of Camas also received a silver medal and a $500 scholarship, and cellist Richard Lu of Camas received a bronze medal and $250.
