A Vancouver man is accused of having and viewing child pornography involving young girls.

Donald R. Knapp, 51, appeared Friday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of viewing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and 10 counts of possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Judge Gregory Gonzales held Knapp in the Clark County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail and appointed Vancouver attorney Jeffrey Barrar to defend him. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Feb. 27.

Last year, Vancouver police investigators located an IP address based in Vancouver offering depictions of suspected child sexual abuse on peer-to-peer file sharing networks.

The IP address was traced to 14826 N.E. 20th Circle in Vancouver, where Knapp lives in the basement, according to court documents.

Vancouver police served a search warrant at the address and seized a computer, DVDs, a cellphone and a digital camera. Investigators found multiple images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct on the devices, according to court papers. The images involved girls under the ages of 10 and 5, court papers say.

Knapp also confessed to viewing the child pornography, court records said.
