High school students who attend Vancouver Public Schools will have the opportunity to purchase low-cost new or gently used formal wear and accessories for their school prom at “Dreams Coming Alive” from noon to 2 p.m. March 21 in the Hudson’s Bay High School commons area.

The event relies on donations from students, parents, staff members and the community to make the prom dreams of students come true. New or gently used men’s and women’s formal wear, shoes and accessories will be accepted between now and March 20 at the following schools:

• From 7:30 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. Monday through Friday at Hudson’s Bay High School, 1601 E. McLoughlin Blvd.; Fort Vancouver High School, 5700 E. 18th St.; Skyview High School, 1300 N.W. 139th St.; Columbia River High School, 800 N.W. 99th St.

• From 9:35 a.m. to 4:05 p.m. Monday through Friday at Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, 3101 Main St., Vancouver; iTech Preparatory, 4100 Plomondon St. or in the Clark College Building at WSU Vancouver.

• From 9:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. at Vancouver Flex Academy, 2901 General Anderson Ave.

To drop off items outside of school hours, contact Trish Piliado at 360-313-4400 or trish.piliado@vansd.org.

The event is organized by the Hudson’s Bay High School National Honor Society. Donated items become the property of the school’s honor society.

Students who donate items will receive a $5 discount toward purchase on the day of the event. All participants will have the opportunity to enter raffles for goods and services provided by the Aveda Institute, a local cosmetology school.
