Umpqua Bank to close Main Street branch in Vancouver

The Columbian
Published:

Umpqua Bank will close its downtown Vancouver branch at 1220 Main St. on March 27, transferring customers to a branch just a few blocks away at 1400 Washington St.

Portland-based Umpqua acquired the Main Street branch when it merged with Spokane-based Sterling Bank in a deal that was completed last spring. Umpqua last fall began the process of closing branches that were no longer needed because of the merger, and it will complete that process later this year, said Eve Callahan, an Umpqua spokeswoman. All other Umpqua branches in Clark County will remain open, including the downtown branch at 720 Esther St., she said.

The Main Street branch closure is effective at 3 p.m. March 27.
