TACOMA — A woman, 36, appears to have fatally shot her daughter, 16, then herself at their Bonney Lake-area home, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said Saturday.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said it did not expect to release their names until Monday.
The woman’s 35-year-old boyfriend found them upon returning from work, and called 911 about 10:40 p.m. Friday, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. Deputies arrived at the home to find the woman and teenager fatally shot in the girl’s bedroom.
A note found in the home, which detectives believe is written by the mother, leads investigators to believe the deaths are the result of a homicide-suicide, Troyer said.
“There’s nothing to tell us any different at this point,” he said.
