One wounded in New Year’s shooting

Clark County sheriff's detectives seek suspect

Clark County sheriff’s detectives are looking for a suspect who shot and wounded a man early this morning at a home near Five Corners.

Deputies were called to 10016 N.E. 72nd Circle just after 3:30 a.m. after a reported shooting at a New Year’s Eve party.

When they arrived, they were told an adult man with a gunshot wound had been driven to a local hospital. The man who shot him had fled.

According to a news release, the wounded man was treated for the gunshot wound and released from the hospital.

Though still at large, the shooter is not believed to pose an imminent threat to the community, according to detectives.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and gang detectives with the Safe Streets Task Force are leading the investigation.

The home is located in the Maple Tree subdivision, east of Covington Road near Five Corners.
