SEATTLE — A Seattle police spokesman says officers responding to a domestic violence call late Wednesday night in south Seattle shot at a car after seeing the occupants of that car shooting at another vehicle.
Detective Drew Fowler says no officers were hurt but the shots were being fired close to police and they were “in very real danger.”
The Seattle Times reports that police were investigating the domestic violence report when they heard gunfire about 10:30 p.m. Fowler says they saw a speeding car, followed by another car whose occupants were shooting at the first vehicle.
The spokesman says three officers fired at the second car, which drove off. The first car stopped and its occupants were cooperating with police. That car was significantly damaged.
