One of the victims of a New Year’s Day shooting has been identified as an Oregon man.

Donni Kessler-Juffri, 21, of Gresham was the man injured in a shooting at a home off Northeast Covington Road near Five Corners, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to a New Year’s Eve party at a Maple Tree subdivision house, 10016 N.E. 72nd Circle, just after 3:30 a.m. When they arrived, they were told that a man with a gunshot wound had been driven to a hospital and that the man who had shot him had fled.

Kessler-Juffri was treated and released at the hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.

Photos of the scene released by investigators indicate at least part of the crime occurred outside.

Though the shooter is still at large, investigators said that he does not pose an imminent threat to the community.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and gang detectives with the Safe Streets Task Force are leading the investigation.

Details of a downtown Vancouver shooting that was reported about a half-hour later were not released.

Portland police initially reported the incident after a victim showed up at a Portland hospital with a gunshot wound at about 4 a.m. According to police, the shooting occurred near Eighth and Main streets downtown.

There are no other known victims and no names were released. No arrests have been made, but the Vancouver major crimes detectives continue to investigate.
