NEW YORK — New Yorkers of all ages and races have gathered outside a New York City funeral home to pay their respects to the Mario Cuomo.

The line outside the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home on Madison Avenue stretched more than a block. Vice President Joe Biden was among those expected to attend.

The 82-year-old former three-term governor died in his Manhattan home on Thursday evening. The death came hours after his son, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was inaugurated a second time.

Lynda Rufo came to the wake, saying Cuomo was “so loved” and “was a part of New York.”

Cuomo’s funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ignatius Loyola Church on Park Avenue. Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton are expected.
