Esther Short — The calamity-prone Griswold family’s holiday high jinks in “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” are a hit with Clark County film fans who voted in this year’s Best Xmas Ever: Movie Edition fundraising competition. The 1989 Chevy Chase comedy beat out perennial favorites, including “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “White Christmas,” as well as unconventional holiday fare such as “Die Hard” and “Bad Santa,” in the poll that raised $2,150 for the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools. Vancouver’s Gravitate Design created the contest and teamed with other local businesses to give $1.40 for each vote received on the online bracket.
