Washougal police are investigating after a 31-year-old man walked into the fire station with stab wounds early this morning.

The man, described as a Clark County resident, had a single stab wound to the abdomen, according to Washougal police.

Detectives responded the Camas-Washougal Fire Station, 1400 A. St., at about 2:30 a.m. and learned that the man had been stabbed at a residence in the 2400 block of North M Street in Washougal, police said.

The injuries were described as not life threatening and the man was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The investigation remains in its early stages, but police say that there is no danger to the public in that it appears to be an isolated incident between two people who know each other.

Alcohol may have played a role in the incident, police said.

If anyone has any information about the stabbing, they are asked to call detectives with the Washougal Police Department at 360-835-8701.
