A fire at a Riverview neighborhood house was caused by an electrical malfunction or failure, according to Vancouver Fire Marshal Heidi Scarpelli.
The blaze, reported just before 9 p.m. Wednesday at 6290 S.E. Riverside Drive, caused an estimated $40,000 in damage, Scarpelli said.
Firefighters had the flames knocked down at the home by 9:25 p.m., according to emergency radio traffic.
