Letter: Warped sense of priorities from rep

Published: January 14, 2015, 4:00pm

When I opened my email I received this from our local GOP member: 1.usa.gov/1AZpFNG, along with her pronouncement of helping jobs.

If one checks this claim via the following www.cbo.gov/publication/49873, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler’s claims are at best bent heavily toward hiding the following facts.

For the employer:

“As a result, H.R. 30 would reduce the number of employers that are assessed penalties and lower the penalties assessed against some employers, which would decrease the amount of penalties collected.”

For the employees:

• Reduce the number of people receiving employment-based coverage — by about 1 million people; Increase the number of people obtaining coverage through Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), or health insurance exchanges — by between 500,000 and 1 million people; and

• Increase the number of uninsured — by less than 500,000 people.

This clearly shows that Herrera Beutler does not support workers of the U.S.A.
