Clark County residents have new options for free recycling of light bulbs that contain mercury, the county’s Environmental Services department announced.
Fluorescent tubes and bulbs are among those that contain small amounts of mercury. If broken, the bulbs’ mercury can harm human health and the environment.
People can bring as many as 10 fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent lights and high-intensity discharge lights to at least 10 locations, according to the county:
• Batteries Plus Bulbs: 1218 N.E. 88th St. or 2100 S.E. 164th Ave.
• Central Transfer and Recycling Center: 11034 N.E. 117th Ave.
• Clark Public Utilities: 1200 Fort Vancouver Way or 8600 N.E. 117th Ave.
• Filbin’s Ace Hardware: 809 N.E. Minnehaha St.
• Globe Lighting: 809 N.E. Minnehaha St.
• Hi-School Ace Hardware: 1605 W. Main St., Battle Ground
• Parkrose Hardware: 16509 S.E. First St.
• Washougal Hardware: 1822 Main St., Washougal
• Washougal Transfer Station: 4020 S. Grant St., Washougal
• West Van Materials Recovery Center: 6601 N.W. Old Lower River Road
