Three games over six days including two on the road.

That was the task the Clark College men’s and women’s basketball teams faced on Monday.

After Saturday afternoon, both Penguins squads emerged with three-game winning streaks.

Clark capped its busy NWAC West Division week with a pair of victories at Grays Harbor in Aberdeen.

MEN: For the second game in a row, Clark led wire-to-wire and beat Grays Harbor 80-68 to move into a tie for first place in the West Division.

Clark (12-5, 4-1) was coming off a 74-63 win at Tacoma on Wednesday.

Evan Garrison led the Penguins in scoring at Grays Harbor (7-10, 2-3) with 21 points on 7 of 9 shooting. Bryan Berg and Orlando Vance each scored 15 points, and Hayden Hall had 12.

“The effort was really good, especially for our second game on the road,” Clark coach Alex Kirk said. “I’m proud of the way we handled the last three games.”

Kirk pointed out the Penguins shot selection is getting better as they made 45 percent of their 3-pointers on Saturday and shot 77.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Clark also enjoyed a 39-27 rebounding advantage.
