Battle Ground — Math is cool, and the freshman mathematics team at CAM Academy, the alternate school for grades 3-12 in the Battle Ground School District, is really cool. The team won multiple awards at both regional and state-level Math Is Cool competitions.

Freshmen Everett Buck, Rahul Chandra, Lauren Choquer and Evan Hefflin took 10th place among Division I teams at the state competition in Moses Lake. Buck also captured seventh place among all state competitors at the Algebra II level.

And, at the regional level, Keegan Sanchez placed second in geometry, while Buck took first place and Chandra took second place in Algebra II.
