Girls basketball: Battle Ground 60, Evergreen 35

A big second quarter carried the visiting Tigers to the Class 4A Greater St. Helens Leaague win. Battle Ground outscored Evergreen 25-8 in the second period to lead by 19 points at halftime.

Alena Jarvis hit a 3-point shot late in the first quarter and another early in the second to spark the Tigers’ surge. Jarvis finished with a team-high 12 points and had three 3-pointers in the game.

Jossilyn Blackman grabbed 16 rebounds for Battle Ground (5-9, 2-4 GSHL). Eleven players scored in the game for the Tigers.

Makenzie Smith scored nine points for Evergreen (3-11, 0-6).
