Kudos to the state GOP for backing Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas. The fact that she received 62 percent of the vote in 2014, compared to 52 percent in 2012, is proof of her standing with the 3rd District voters.
The Clark County GOP are a group of far-right dissidents who could never be elected dogcatcher. They have caused many of us to cancel our local memberships, though we remain solid Republicans. I hope that Herrera Beutler keeps up the good work; the real Republicans and thoughtful Democrats are solidly behind her.
