Sound the “Tina Fey comedic material” alarm: Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Fey’s latest creation, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”

The series, created by Fey and fellow “30 Rock” showrunner Robert Carlock, stars Ellie Kemper (“The Office,” “Bridesmaids”) as Kimmy, who moves to New York City after living underground with a doomsday cult for 15 years.

“Armed with just a backpack, light-up sneakers, and a couple of way-past-due library books, Kimmy’s ready to take on a world she didn’t even think existed anymore,” Netflix’s press release states. “Wide-eyed but resilient, nothing is going to stand in her way.”

And while such freedom may allow you to eat candy for dinner, you have to also deal with street harassment. The trailer shows the quirks of how Kimmy tackles both.

All 13 episodes of the show’s first season will be available March 6. “Kimmy” was initially created for NBC, but Netflix picked up the series mid-filming with a two-season order. There doesn’t seem to be bad blood about the switch; NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt had said the two-season deal was too good for Fey and Carlock to pass up.

“When the opportunity arose for Tina Fey and Robert Carlock to premiere their new show on Netflix with a two-season commitment, we decided this was the best possible scenario to launch this captivating new series,” he said.

Fey said she and Carlock will continue to collaborate with NBC, and for this show, “I actually think more people will find us” on Netflix.

“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” also stars Fey’s former “30 Rock” co-star Jane Krakowski.
