Man wanted by Portland police has Vancouver ties, authorities say

A man wanted by the Portland Police Bureau on suspicion of a variety of crimes is has ties to Vancouver, the agency said.

Portland officers are asking for the public’s help in locating 51-year-old Daniel Leroy Turner, a suspect in numerous thefts from Portland area health clubs among other crimes.

A Multnomah County Grand Jury indicted Turner on charges of two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle, two counts of aggravated identity theft, four counts of identity theft, two counts of second-degree theft and interfering with a peace officer, Portland police said.

Detectives say that Turner is known to sneak in or purchase guest passes at health clubs and then break into lockers, stealing cash and credit cards. Turner has, on occasion, exercised at the facility before stealing from the locker room, Portland police said.

Turner is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 210 to 240 pounds, brown eyes, shaved or bald head and numerous tattoos.

Anyone who sees Turner is asked to immediately call 911, and anyone with information about Turner is asked to contact Det. Pete McConnell at North Precinct at 503-823-5700 or peter.mcconnell@portlandoregon.gov.
