Letter: Clear landscape of repetitive signs

I’m tired of political signs along our roads. I consider them visual pollution and another distraction for drivers. They’ve just removed them from the last election and once again they’re popping up, like scabs on the landscape. Churches and contractors are putting up signs now, too. Enough.

The numerous “Madore” signs are especially despicable. Please people, get out and vote next election so we can get our local government out of the hands of wealthy zealots like David Madore and his Christian fundamentalist minions. I appreciate Madore’s achievements in business, his love for family, and his passion for his beliefs. However, his narcissism has led to delusions of grandeur. He thinks he has created more jobs than he really has. He envisions an “East County Madore Memorial Bridge to Nowhere” while the Interstate 5 Bridge decays. He’s convinced he can use his Cheshire grin and vast resources into any seat he wants and expand his religious mission to the halls of our government. Nonsense. Every “Madore” sign you see gives you one more reason to vote him and his cronies out. Let’s ban all political signs and clean house.
