Construction at Curtin Creek slated to start

The Columbian
Published:

Clark County Public Works will begin construction along Northeast 119th Street on Tuesday, slowing traffic at Curtin Creek where crews will be replacing a culvert under the road.

Work will continue until late August about a half mile east of Northeast 72nd Avenue, according to a county news release. Drivers will need to use alternate routes through the area, such as Padden Parkway to the south and Northeast 139th Street to the north.

The construction is part of a $19.3 million project to improve and widen Northeast 119th Street between Northeast 72nd Avenue and Northeast 87th Avenue, the county said. The project will include two travel lanes in each direction, a continuous left-turn lane, dual left-turn lanes from Northeast 119th Street onto Northeast 72nd Avenue, bicycle lanes and sidewalks.

Full construction is expected to be completed in 2016, according to the release.
