Letter: Enforce age restriction on sales

The Columbian
Published: July 6, 2015, 12:00am

We are losing the battle against teenage smoking. Instead of banning the sale of tobacco products to minors, let us enforce the ban of the purchase of tobacco products by minors. Each time they are caught using restricted tobacco products they should get cited, have to do community service, and eventually have their driver’s license suspended.

Let’s put the onus on the perpetrator to stop breaking the law. Let’s also put the responsibility on parents to keep their minor children from breaking the law.
