Letter: Meet-up makes good copy

The Columbian
Published: July 6, 2015, 12:00am

Recently, Dandy Don Benton refused the extended hand (handshake) of Lovable Lou Brancaccio in a public setting. This resulted in Brancaccio’s June 27 column, “Fear and loathing in Crazytown,” in The Columbian.

Lovable Lou continually makes negative comments in The Columbian about Benton and a couple of county councilors with whom we are acquainted. There seems to be some animosity between the parties involved.

Given the animosity between the parties involved, it would be predictable that Benton would refuse a handshake.

Did Lovable Lou intentionally set up Dandy Don for a minor public embarrassment that would make good copy?

It is at least a possibility. One never knows, does one?
