Letter: Association can fool the eye

Five persons are running in the August primary race for Position 2 on the Clark County council. Four of them seem sincere about their candidacy, while the fifth candidate appears to want to slide in on the basis of her last name.

Candidate Mary Benton didn’t take the opportunity to provide voters a chance for hear her views at a recent candidate meeting and she seems unwilling to provide the same ideas through the media.

Looking at the large road signs for her, you see the name “Benton” prominent while “Mary” is small in the upper left-hand corner. Is this Don Benton’s attempt at a third public office?

Any one of the other four candidates will be a good council member, and I encourage voters to vote for their choice of those four.
