TACOMA — Prosecutors are waiting for additional information before making a charging decision in a boat collision on Commencement Bay that left two people hospitalized and one missing.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports that Joshua Puckett appeared in court Monday but will not be charged until at least Wednesday. Prosecutors say they are waiting for more information on Saturday’s crash.

Authorities say alcohol contributed to the crash, which happened at about 11 p.m. near Point Defiance Park in Tacoma.

Puckett was operating a boat carrying four people when it capsized and everyone aboard went into the water. Pierce County marine crews rescued three people, but a man remains missing.

That boat collided with another vessel carrying two people. Those two were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
