TEACHERS AND TECHNOLOGY GRANT AWARDS

Art teachers Carmen Yadon, of Pleasant Valley Middle School, and Debbie Supplitt, of Tukes Valley Middle School, received grants totaling $10,000 from the CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation’s Teachers and Technology grant program. They will use the funds to purchase 15 iPads equipped with art applications and a mobile charging station and plan to use the devices for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) projects in all of Battle Ground Public Schools’ middle schools. Yadon and Supplitt had the idea more than two years ago to bridge the gap between art education and technology.
