Scholarships

HUDSON’S BAY HIGH SCHOOL

These 2015 graduates reported receiving the following scholarships:

Jai Barbosa, daughter of Calixta Rival and Luciano Barbosa, received a College Bound Scholarship. She plans to study at Clark College, and to later study dentistry.

Ashley Beard, daughter of Bobbie Beard, received a renewable FCOC Scholarship from Washington State University. She plans to major in architecture at the Pullman campus.

Jehra Bowen, son of Marion Barrett, plans to study at Clark College. He received a renewable Red Lions Scholarship.

Nala Comstock, daughter of Cami Comstock, plans to major in business management at Washington State University in Pullman. She received a renewable College Bound Scholarship, a Rotary Scholarship, a Western Division Scholarship, a renewable Academic Scholarship and a Tim Cameron Award.

Alex Embleton, son of Paul Embleton, plans to study at George Fox University in Newberg, Ore., where he received a renewable Steven’s Scholar Award. His guardians are Marty and George Embleton.

Julia Henderson, daughter of Jennifer and Jason Henderson, plans to major in mechanical engineering at Washington State University in Pullman. She received a renewable Future Cougars of Color Scholarship.

Cinthia Huizar-Bramasco, daughter of Araceli Bramasco and Roberto Huizar, received a renewable Founder Award from Azusa Pacific University. She plans to major in biochemistry.

Jacob Johnston, son of Michael Johnston, received a College Bound Scholarship and plans to major in aviation at Central Washington University in Ellensburg.

Landon Joy, son of ReNai and Greg Joy, plans to major in business at Corban University in Salem, Ore., where he will also play golf. He received a renewable Dean’s Merit/Athletic Scholarship.

Kristin Laidlaw received a renewable College Bound Scholarship. She plans to major in psychology at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.

Thommy Le received a renewable College Bound Scholarship and plans to major in computer science at Washington State University in Pullman.

Danae Lee, daughter of Sara and Mario Lee, plans to major in dentistry at Washington State University in Pullman, where she will participate in track and field. She received a College Bound Scholarship.

Mya Jean Lidstrom-Ray, daughter of Tim and Lori Blackwell, received a renewable Cougars of Color Scholarship from Washington State University. She plans to major in veterinary medicine at the Pullman campus.

Sandra Melchor, daughter of Mario Melchor and Inez Gómez, plans to study at Walla Walla University, where she received a WWU Achievement Scholarship. She also received a renewable College Bound Scholarship.

Saul Paez, son of Jose Paez, plans to major in electrical engineering at Western Washington University in Bellingham. He received a renewable Presidential Scholarship, a WIAA Sports Scholarship and a renewable Leadership Scholarship. He may try out for Western’s soccer team.

Katelyn Perkins, daughter of William Perkins Jr., plans to major in photography at the Art Institute of Portland. She received a renewable College Bound Scholarship.

Ariele Retherford, daughter of Varsha Martin, plans to major in engineering at the University of Washington in Seattle. She received a renewable University Scholarship, a renewable Work Study Scholarship and a renewable College Bound Scholarship.

Joselyn Rojas, daughter of Alicia Lopez and Manuel Rojas, received a renewable Future Cougars of Color Scholarship. She plans to study nutrition at Washington State University in Pullman.

Hunter Simpson, daughter of Lori and George Simpson, plans to study at Western Washington University in Bellingham. She received a Rotary Award Scholarship, a Washington State Scholar Award and a renewable Presidential Scholarship from Western.

Brandy Wales, daughter of Jim and Emily Wales, plans to study computer science at Clark College. She received a Magna Carta 800th Anniversary Scholarship.
