An Evergreen High School teacher whose arraignment hearing was set over from Tuesday to Friday was instead arraigned Wednesday on two counts of voyeurism, according to Clark County Superior Court records.

Matthew Morasch, 40, entered not-guilty pleas to the counts. He is accused of using his cellphone to take photos and video up females’ dresses, including a student in his class.

Morasch’s attorney, Alan Harvey with Northwest Legal Advocates, said Wednesday’s trial judge had already seen material on the case before it was set over to Friday in arraignment court. Morasch’s trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 5.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Morasch allegedly filmed up the 14-year-old girl’s dress while she was seated at a table. Morasch had reportedly come over to help students who were working on final projects.

The alleged incident occurred on June 15, two days before the end of the school year.

At least three students reported seeing Morasch filming the lower half of the girl. One student snapped a photo during the alleged incident, court records said.

Morasch was placed on paid administrative leave that day, a school district spokesperson said. The science teacher was finishing his 10th year in the school district.

Police later seized and searched Morasch’s cellphone and found that the alleged video had been deleted. However, there was another photo and video taken of two different females in April. One photo was taken in Morasch’s classroom. The other was taken inside the Battle Ground Goodwill store, according to the affidavit.
