Vancouver Heights — The Women’s Funding Alliance gave a $15,000 grant to the Southwest Washington Child Care Consortium to start an after-school science, technology, engineering and math program at McLoughlin Middle School for girls in grades six through eight. Educational Service District 112’s regional science coordinators will help create the twice-weekly program, which will give students a chance to participate in hands-on STEM activities. The money will also go to field trips so the group can see STEM-related careers firsthand.
