Battle Ground — The Clark County Newcomers Club donated $15,000 to Northwest Battle Buddies at a presentation on July 7. The club raised the money through a variety of sources, including two anonymous donors. The money will be used to train and team up dogs with veterans who have PTSD. The Clark County Newcomers Club aims to provide a network for fostering friendships in an atmosphere of mutual respect, and to support local charities and service endeavors. Shannon Walker, founder and president of Battle Buddies, was on hand with a few veterans to accept the check.
