A water valve that ruptured Sunday night, cracking pavement and sending water streaming over a Felida street, was repaired Monday morning, according to Clark Public Utilities.

Traffic on Northwest 36th Avenue near McCann Road was closed at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday when firefighters from Clark County Fire District 6 were alerted of the hazard.

The incident affected 35 customers, Clark Public Utilities spokeswoman Erica Erland said.

The street was reopened Monday afternoon. There was no lasting damage to the road, Erland said. Inspectors assessed the damage and removed the broken asphalt. Crews will patch up the road in the near future, Erland said.
